Burning Ground

The Burning Ground dates from 1963.  This is where various types of discarded explosives or unwanted materials were burned and destroyed. This piece of triangular ground also has much earlier structures.  The nearby Gunpowder Press House was served by two magazines overlooking the canal and separated by a mass concrete traverse.
