CANDIDATE INFORMATION

We’re recruiting! We’re looking for talented people to manage the bookings and development of our education programmes and functions.  The roles have been created as Part Time, but they can also be rolled into one if you are looking for Full Time.  Initially offered on a temporary basis, we hope to extend both to longer contract or ongoing status.

Candidate profiles

The ideal candidates would bring excellent relevant experience and skills immediately to the aid of a hard-working charity, but the wide salary range reflects that we would also consider training up a talented person with hard evidence of administrative skills and commitment to learn.  The key to both roles is strong organisation and time-planning, excellent team spirit and customer care and enthusiasm to increase visitors. 

Education CoordinatorPart Time up to 20 hours pw (£16K to £22K pro rata)
The Royal Gunpowder Mills at Waltham Abbey (RGM) welcomes mostly KS1 and KS2 students to its historic site for unique day programmes to learn history and nature. The aim of the Education Coordinator is to increase and mange school bookings and work closely with the Education Manager to organise teachers and materials, and develop new programmes. This varied role will include elements of improving data capture, analysis, help develop marketing, and research ideas and test viability of new programmes, plus applying their skills to assist the Chief Officer and others to expand the experience of RGM.  Core hours would be midday/afternoon. Knowledge of the following: education, or heritage and nature or experience in marketing an asset.

Functions CoordinatorPart Time up to 20 hours pw (£16K to 22K pro rata)

The Royal Gunpowder Mills at Waltham Abbey (RGM) offers site tours and activities for a diverse range of groups such as U3A, Paranormal groups, Scouts and cubs and special needs groups, plus we  hire out space to organisations for their events.  We also partner others in staging events including unique theatre and shows.  The right person will relish researching and identifying new markets and creating new clients and new happenings at RGM.  The role will require Flexibility of hours and days as some weekend and evening work is required and acting as a Duty Manager in rotation with others to look after the safety of visitors and ensure a smooth visit. Knowledge of the following: venue hire, heritage or nature or experience in marketing an asset.

The two roles can be combined as Education and Functions Coordinator, Full-time, same salary scale).
