Administrator

Up to £16,000 (or pro rata) according to experience. 20-35 hours per week, with core hours starting 9.30.       

This is a role for a hard working person with a 'can-do' attitude, who has strong organisational skills and values team work.  There is scope to develop the role while you assist the Chief Officer and her team in daily tasks and projects.  The role is mainly office based, however there are often tasks that need to be seen to on site.  Enjoyment of a varied workload, very good IT skills, and keen curiosity is a must. 

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support our hard-working team in carrying out their varied workloads. You can expect to be handling phone and email enquiries, website work, setting up rooms and hospitality for groups and seminars and ad-hoc duties.  As you get deeper into the work there will be opportunities to develop the role.

Heritage Site Facilities Manager

Salary: £21,000 - £27,000 according to experience

This is an opportunity for a confident and well-organised person with experience in practical care for a site to step up to the challenges of caring for a historic site and visitor attraction. Experience and training or qualifications in conservation and heritage is desirable, and commitment to heritage and learning about its care is essential. 

Role Purpose

This hands-on role supports the mission of the charity to conserve the built and natural heritage of the Royal Gunpowder Mills in two distinct areas of the site: the heritage visitor attraction buildings and facilities, and a Scheduled Monument featuring redundant buildings. The scope of the role includes practical tasks in the Visitor Attraction to be achieved by undertaking yourself, or through the Site Assistant, contractors or volunteers, as appropriate. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a good visitor experience and that the built and natural heritage is passed on to future generations to enjoy.

Summer Café Manager (temp)

Salary: £9.90

Hours: 9.00 – 5.30  Sunday to Thursday

Duration: Mid-July – end of August 2018 with possibility of further event work

This is a role for a person passionate about delivering good food and service, and has strong experience of managing a café, using Level 3 Food Safety qualifications, recruiting and training up staff and leading them in great customer service, safe café working, hygiene and presentation.  Initially offered for the Summer School Holiday event  (up to end of August) there is the possibility for further work for autumn and winter events. 

Role Purpose

The work supports the mission of the charity by offering its visitors an excellent Gunpowder Café experience, by ensuring its smooth running when the site is open to the public, ensuring good stock levels, café processes, an attractive menu and by leading and supervising café staff to a high standard.
