Walking Tour : Take a close up look at the heritage of the Mills

walk-tour-2-s.jpgDescribed as the ‘most important site for the history of explosives in Europe’, the Mills is a Scheduled Monument.  On this bespoke guided walk through Invitation to View you will get close up to its architecture and stories and enjoy a special tea. Tickets can be found at www.invitationtoview.co.uk

Tea At The Mills : Event Postponed 

Untitled.pngA fantastic event comes to the Royal Gunpowder Mills March 28th, Tea At The Mills will provide an elegant tea with a selection of sandwiches, scones and small cakes plus more, this fabulous event is not one to miss! 

 


National Drive It Day Charity Run 2017 : April 23 

carshow-2017-1.jpgProud to be the finish for The Charity Classic Vehicle Club & Chelmer Valley Car Meet rally for Drive it Day, with a wonderful display of cars from the: 30s, 40s and onwards to 80s.

 VE Weekend : April 29 – May 1

veday-2017-1.jpgOK – It’s back! Our ever-popular VE Weekend celebrations featuring re-enactments, 40s entertainments and dancing, and good food. Be prepared to spruce up that 40s frock and hairdo! 

 


Wild West Weekend : May 27, 28, 29

wildwest-2017-1.jpgThe fantastic wild west re-enactors move in with their tent town!  Find out how they worked, lived and played out on the frontiers, and watch out for those bandits! There is a shoot-out.

 


Victorian Days : May Half Term : May 30 - June 4

SUMMER HOLIDAYS  Summer Days at the Royal Gunpowder Mills promise an array of fantastic activities , walks , talks and more 


SEPTEMBER 24 : Southern Alfa Romeo Day A fabulous car show showcasing Alfa Romeo's throughout history! Not to be missed


OCTOBER : Half Term There's fantastic experiments ago in the Mad Lab! Spooktacular fun for all the family.


NOVEMBER : Guy Fawkes Festival & Fireworks Where better to see a fireworks display then at a gunpowder factory ? A fantastic display and afternoon of events not to be missed.

The Royal Gunpowder Mills is a Learning Destination for the Children’s University and their Passport To Learning programme. Children can collect passport stamps for each of the following:

  • Victorian Days: May Half Term 
  • Summer Holidays: Summer At The Royal Gunpowder Mills
