Volunteering at RGM

We are recruiting volunteers now, so take this opportunity to come and get to know this amazing site, its' story and the people who care for it; join in with training and induction sessions to become one of the team.

We are looking for volunteers to help with our visitor events for this season. There are various roles such as stewarding, guiding and driving for our tours.

170 acres is a lot to look after so there are many jobs to be done on the grounds and buildings. If you have some time and are a practical person you could, come a get involved behind the scenes, looking after this important site and its buildings.

RGM’s aims are to preserve the site for its industrial and natural history, share its beauty and tell its story.

To begin your volunteering journey with any of the roles listed below, or if you have a specific relevant skill or knowledge that would be helpful to RGM, please contact Liz [email protected] who will be happy to discuss the volunteering opportunities with you.

Thank you for your interest we look forward to hearing from you.

The Royal Gunpowder Mills is reliant on the time, skills, knowledge and hard work given by the team of volunteers. The team works to preserve and share the site and its unique history, for the visitors and for the future.

The volunteers give their time to support the work of RGM in a variety of ways. We can arrange to meet you to discuss your interests and guide you through the wide range of volunteering opportunities. Browse the links below to find out more about a variety of roles and tasks.

Your contribution will help the charity to thrive, while giving you the opportunity to enjoy the special atmosphere of the surroundings, have the satisfaction of supporting worthwhile projects and the knowledge that you have spent your precious time wisely.

To play your part in this internationally important site, please contact [email protected].
